On March 13, 2025, a tragic event occurred in Mauá, Brazil, where a woman lost her life after being hit by a bus on Avenida Benedita Franco da Veiga. The victim, who remains unidentified, was on her way to work when the accident happened early in the morning near Chiquita Bakery in the Feital neighborhood. Sadly, her body was not removed from the scene until almost noon, causing frustration among local residents and her family. This incident has highlighted the ongoing issue in Mauá of not having a local Medical Legal Institute (IML), leading to a dependence on Santo André’s facilities.
