A 30-year-old youth named Sarif from Matora died instantly when more than half his body, from below the knees upward, was sucked into a thresher machine while feeding wheat bundles during harvesting in Chakoliya Dhani near Matora, under Tatarpur police station area in Khairthal-Tijara district, Rajasthan.
The incident occurred around 8:30 PM as Sarif and his brother Jamshed operated the rented thresher in Sachin Yadav’s field. Sarif’s hand got caught, pulling him in within seconds. Onlookers immediately stopped the machine. His brother Jamshed fainted upon seeing the accident and was hospitalized.
Police disassembled the thresher to recover Sarif’s body in pieces, which was sent for postmortem. Investigation is ongoing.
