Violent Clashes in Myintsung Township
Violent clashes erupted in Myintsung Township on May 15 after the People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) carried out a sudden attack on the Kyauk Uy village militia camp. The militia responded, leading to a prolonged exchange of gunfire that lasted for several hours. The confrontation resulted in the deaths of three PDF members on the battlefield.
Witnesses in the village reported hearing intense gunfire and explosions, causing fear and chaos among the local residents. Even though the situation has now stabilized, tensions remain high with security forces on alert to prevent any further threats.
