In 2018, a tragic incident occurred on National Road 14 in Argentina when a 62-year-old motorcyclist was fatally dragged 40km (25 miles) after colliding with a truck. The victim, a municipal worker from Gobernador Virasoro, became entangled in the truck’s rear underride guards. The truck driver, a 41-year-old Brazilian national employed by Multi Armazens, was unaware of the collision and continued driving until border police stopped him near San José after a Road Safety Patrol spotted the victim. Despite police finding a mangled motorcycle earlier, no body was initially located. The driver was arrested but could not explain the incident.
