A young woman identified as Luana Soares was discovered dead early Friday morning (20) on the banks of the river along BR-010, near the Afrodite rest stop/motel in São Miguel do Guamá.
She was found topless, wearing only underwear. Initially still alive when spotted, she showed no signs of life by the time rescue teams arrived.
No vehicle, debris, or clear evidence of what happened was located at the scene. The victim’s mobile phone was recovered next to her body.
Authorities are investigating the unusual and suspicious circumstances surrounding the case.
