In a chilling act of violence on the night of Saturday, the 19th, a young woman identified as Kátia M. was brutally shot and killed in Itinga do Maranhão, Brazil. Eyewitnesses reported that the victim was sitting in a chair near a Military Police headquarters when a man arrived on a motorcycle, approached her without warning, and opened fire.
The shooting occurred just steps from law enforcement, but despite the close proximity, the assailant managed to escape the scene before officers could intervene. Kátia was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, she did not survive her injuries.
