Tragic Incident on National Road 14 in Argentina
In a tragic event in 2018, a 62-year-old motorcyclist lost his life after being pulled along for 40km (25 miles) by a truck on National Road 14 between Gobernador Virasoro and San José. The victim, who was a municipal worker, became entangled in the rear underride guards of the truck. The truck driver, a 41-year-old Brazilian working for Multi Armazens, was taken into custody, though he was reportedly unaware of the incident. Initially, authorities discovered a badly damaged motorcycle at the scene but could not locate the victim until customs officers halted the truck 40 minutes later, observing the victim hanging from it.
When a person is dragged by a vehicle, it leads to severe injuries such as abrasions that remove skin and muscle, exposing bones. This type of incident often results in broken bones, dislocated joints, damage to internal organs, and head trauma, which can be fatal.
