ITAMARAJU, Bahia – In a horrifying act of domestic violence, a man set his wife ablaze during a jealousy-fueled argument inside a commercial establishment in Itamaraju on Thursday.
The flames quickly engulfed the attacker himself, leaving him with severe burns. Shocked witnesses desperately tried to extinguish the fire using water and clothing while others recorded the gruesome scene on video.
After the flames were put out, the man was found writhing on the ground in agony from his injuries. His wife, who was set on fire first, lay nearby in critical condition awaiting medical help.
