This is the latest in a string of incidents across Indonesia in which people have been swallowed by giant snakes. In Sula district, North Maluku province, east of Sulawesi, villagers openly filmed a resident being swallowed by a 7-meter python and declared the footage as evidence. The practice of recording such deaths appears common in the area.
