Two Women Die After Propeller Incident on Kayak Princess During Grenada Spicemas

Accident, all categories, Gore, Location, Other countries, Stupid

During Grenada’s Spicemas celebrations on Saturday, two women entered the water from a vessel and came into contact with its propeller. One died at the scene while the second was taken to the General Hospital in St. George’s, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The vessel has been identified as the Kayak Princess, a party boat operating from the Carenage in St. George’s. Its captain was detained as authorities investigated, though there was no confirmation of charges at the time of publication. Questions later arose about the sequence of events. In comments under a GBN report, a woman identifying herself as an eyewitness disputed claims that the victims jumped from the vessel. She said she was aboard the white boat with the two victims and, after it docked, saw them swimming past while holding onto each other, one appearing to assist the other. Less than ten minutes later, one was seen floating near the propellers; she called for assistance and later provided information to police. Another commenter who claimed to have been aboard also disputed that the women jumped. The social-media accounts have not been independently verified, and police have not publicly confirmed the precise sequence of events.
