Recent Beheadings and Discarded Bodies in Mexico’s Cartel Conflict
Early Friday, a man’s decapitated body was left near Park 87 in the Culiacán neighborhood of Simón Bolívar by a group of assassins.
Later that same night, the man’s head was abandoned in the República Mexicana neighborhood on Soberanía and Clavel streets, in front of Valentín Gómez School, around 10:36 p.m.
The head was discovered on a Pizza box with references to La Chapiza, La Chapizza, or Los Chapitos; the man’s identity remains a mystery.
In the Quesería community, a man’s severed head was discovered, followed by the headless body of the victim found in Palmillas.
