A 19-year-old woman identified as Marcela Vitória de Lima Santos was bitten by a shark at Boa Viagem Beach in Recife, Pernambuco, on Monday. Her cousin, Jonas André de Lima, rescued her from the sea and reported that she had already lost her right leg when pulled from the water.
The victim was stabilized at Hospital Alfa before being transferred to Hospital da Restauração. This incident marks the second shark attack in the region in two consecutive days.
